Samsung NV10 Review

Samsung NV10The Samsung NV10 has a great touch-sensitive interface, a stylish design, and good image quality. It is, however, a little pricey. PC Mag has written a review and they write: “Samsung’s NV10—one of three cameras in the company’s new NV series—is both intelligent and intuitive.

It’s a 10-megapixel, 3X optical ultracompact with a 7.4mm-to-22.2mm range (equivalent to a 35mm lens with a 35mm-to-105mm zoom) and corresponding maximum f-stops of f/2.8 to f/5.1—all decent specs, but nothing truly outstanding. At less than an inch thick (not counting the lens), it’s one of the thinnest cameras on the market.”

“What makes this point-and-shoot really distinctive is its Smart Touch technology. On the back of the sleek camera’s body, you’ll find 13 tiny, square, unlabeled buttons by the bright, clear 2.5-inch LCD—six to the right and seven underneath it.”

“The camera fared well during lab testing. I didn’t find much noise in the daylight shots, but high ISO settings indroduced some colored noise. Pictures had pretty good color, with just a touch of purple fringing. My flash pictures displayed nice illumination with lots of detail in the highlights. The NV10 averaged 1,900 lines of resolution, which is excellent for a 10MP camera. There was no pincushion distortion to speak of, and just a touch of the usual barrel distortion.”
