The Samsung i70 is a 7.2-mega pixel camera with a 3x optical zoom and a very large 3-inch LCD screen. The Samsung i70 has a very sleek and modern body design. It is unique looking. I quite like it, I might just put it on my things to buy list. The i70 will be available in February 2007.

Samsung Launches the Innovatively Designed i70

Samsung today announced the launch of the 7.2 mega-pixel i70, featuring 3x zoom and a large 3.0” LCD. This premium camera features an innovative sliding cover which, when opened, reveals the intuitive 9-button User Interface. The i70 has an eye-catching, body design and special surface finish. This combines with multimedia capabilities to make it a particularly attractive camera for people who demand entertainment on the move.

The Samsung i70’s multimedia capabilities include a Portable Media Player and an MP3 player so the user can have video and music on the go. It also has a text viewer that enables you to read whilst listening to music. The I(Intelligent)-movie capability supports TV quality MPEG-4 (720×480) at 15fps, combining with image stabilisation and in camera editing.

The i70 includes Samsung’s Intelligent Face Recognition Technology, which detects the subject’s face, automatically adjusts auto focus and auto exposure to ensure better composition and image quality in portraits, and other shots featuring people. The AF function instantaneously recognises the faces of subjects and accurately focuses on them. The AE function then takes over, setting the appropriate exposure to ensure the highest image quality.
