Sony DSLR A200
Sony have announced their only new DSLR camera at the 2008 CES. It’s the Sony DSLR A200 and it replaces the former Sony DSLR-A100.
The Sony A200 features a 10.2-megapixel sensor and is designed to be easier to use, faster and lighter. It has a wider 2.7-inch LCDTM screen, easy-to-use function menu, a more compact body than the previous one, and improved noise control for HQ images.
Olympus Stylus 770SW Review
The Olympus Stylus 770SW is a waterproof 7.1-mega pixel camera with a 2.5-inch LCD, 3x optical, and 38mm- to 114mm-equivalent f/3.5 to f/5.0 zoom lens. Cnet has rated it 6.8 out of 10, saying: “Olympus’ Stylus 770SW might not produce perfect images, but you’d be hard pressed to find a compact camera as tough as this one”.
Olympus FE-240 Review
The Olympus FE-240 is a 7.1-mega pixel camera with a large 2.5-inch LCD screen. It takes decent pictures, but is very slow - plus it does not have any manual settings. Cnet has written a review of the FE-240 and they write: ” The FE-240’s most notable feature is its lens. The camera’s 38mm-to-190mm-equivalent lens offers a 5x magnification factor over the other FE-cameras’ 3x lenses. Besides the increased zoom, the FE-240 sports fairly mundane features, such as a 7-megapixel sensor and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.
Pentax K10D Review
The Pentax K10D is a 10-mega pixel camera with a 2.5-inch LCD screen. Cnet has rated it 7.7 (almost a great big 8 ) out of 10, saying: “A great feature set for the price, pro-level customization, and excellent photo quality make the Pentax K10D a bargain amateur dSLR. Only unremarkable performance holds it back from joining the pack leaders”.

The Canon PowerShot A460 is a 5-mega pixel camera with a small 2-inch LCD screen. It is one of the very cheap digital cameras. Cnet has written a review and they write: “The chunky, brick-shaped A460 weighs 7.4 ounces with batteries and memory card, and at 1.6 inches thick, it’s a bit too fat to fit in your jeans. The minimalist control layout consists of four buttons and a zoom rocker integrated into a menu-navigating joy pad.
Canon PowerShot A550 Review
The Canon PowerShot A550 is a 7-mega pixel camera with a smaller-than-usual 2-inch LCD screen. Cnet has written a review of it and write: ” Though not quite small enough to slip into your jeans, the A550 is still comfortably compact. At 7.4 ounces and 1.7 inches thick, the camera can fit easily into most jacket pockets and bags.
Nikon D2Xs Review
Cnet has written a review of the Nikon D2Xs and they write: “Built to last, with a weather-sealed magnesium alloy body, the Nikon D2Xs sports the same thoughtful design as its predecessor. Its built-in vertical grip helps make this model larger than the average SLR. It measures 6.2×5.9×3.4 inches without a lens, and at 2.8 pounds (with its battery and a CompactFlash card), it’s not exactly light either, though it’s still about half a pound lighter than the EOS-1Ds Mark II.
