The first Kodak cam in the Z series is the EasyShare Z8612. This camera is all about the zoom. It comes with a 8.1 mega-pixel sensor and a whopping 12x optical zoom with optical image stabilization.

You can take HD pictures and also purchase the optional Kodak EasyShare HDTV Dock. The Z8612 has a high ISO (up to 3200) and features smart scene mode.

— Smart scene mode automatically selects from 5 available scene modes, if a scene mode cannot be detected, the camera will default to Auto.

The Z8612 has a 2.5-inch LCD screen, that allows you to view pictures with brilliance and clarity on the color display.

The EasyShare Z8612 will retail at $249.95 and will be available in March.
