Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 Review
The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 is a 10-mega pixel compact camera (one of very few) with a larger 2.6-inch LCD screen. The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 will hit the shops in March, with a suggested price of $300, and it will be available in pink, blue, silver and black. Cnet has written a short review of the EX-Z1050 and they write:
“The EX-Z1050 is a minor upgrade to the Casio Exilim EX-Z1000. This 10-megapixel camera has the same features as its predecessor, with two exceptions. The EX-Z1050 adds a 2.6-inch LCD screen to the mix, offering a slightly larger display than the EX-Z1000. It also features a much faster burst mode, which Casio claims can hit up to seven frames per second. We won’t believe it until we see it in the CNET Labs, but it sounds impressive.
The EX-Z1050 is one of the only 10-megapixel compact cameras on the market, but it’s not the only choice for users looking for high-resolution shots. The slightly more expensive Canon PowerShot A640 offers the same high-resolution shooting with a flip-out LCD and plenty of manual features that more experienced photographers will enjoy. Of course, the EX-Z1000 itself might also prove a viable alternative; when the EX-Z1050 hits stores, its predecessor will probably see a price cut.
When we tested it, we were disappointed by the EX-Z1000’s overprocessed images and subpar low-light performance, but otherwise we enjoyed it. If Casio improves the image processing and sensitivity over that of its predecessor, the EX-Z1050 could be a very good, affordable 10-megapixel shooter. “
